Covid - 19 Update

Davis Dentistry will resume practice operations in compliance with relevant Executive Orders on Monday May 4th. We will continue to employ the enhanced cleaning and infection control protocols we implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We want to provide our patients and team members with the safest possible healthcare environment.

Our practice will be screening all patients and visitors to our offices. At Davis Dentistry team member will ask each patient/visitor a few travel-related and health screening questions, both prior to their appointment and upon arrival in our office; patients’ and visitors’ temperatures will be checked with a temporal thermometer. We are asking all patients to arrive 5 min. prior to their scheduled appointment. Patients who are at high risk for COVID-19, as determined by our office, will likely have their visit rescheduled. If you’re not feeling well, please contact us to reschedule, whenever possible, in advance of your visit.

All team members will be surveyed daily to ensure adherence with social distancing standards and status of their health. All team members will be in masks (or scarves for non-clinical team members). Importantly, all personnel in our offices will complete COVID-19 testing with the IGG antibody test as soon as we receive our supply of test kits (within 2 weeks).  The IGG test determines both the acute presence of the virus and whether our team members were exposed to COVID-19 previously.

Additionally, to reduce the risk of transmission to our patients and team members, as well as their families, the office has installed 4 very powerful HEPA h13 air filters.  These filters will remove all bacteria, viruses and VOCS down to the .3 microns keeping our working environment safe!

We appreciate your support of these infection control measures.  Your oral health is vital to your overall wellness and your ability to resist the impact of COVID-19, so we encourage you, if healthy, to maintain your regularly scheduled hygiene appointments with Dr. Davis and our practice.

In good health,

Dr. Davis and Team

Porcelain Veneers Prices and Payment Options By Mark Davis on April 04, 2013

Scottsdale Porcelain Veneers CostsPorcelain veneers represent a major advance in the field of aesthetic dentistry. They treat a range of cosmetic dental flaws, look natural, and last for years with proper care and maintenance. At Davis Dentistry, Scottsdale cosmetic dentist Mark Davis uses porcelain veneers to make subtle improvements that completely transform our patients’ smiles. When patients come into our office for dental exams or porcelain veneer consultations, we are frequently asked about the cost of porcelain veneers. The answer, of course, is different for each patient. You see there are a number of factors that affect the cost of porcelain veneers; the extent of tooth preparation, number of teeth being treated, and number of veneers to be fabricated will determine the total cost of treatment. In general, porcelain veneers cost anywhere from $900 to $2,500 per tooth.

Extent of Tooth Preparation

The amount of tooth preparation that is required certainly plays a role in the cost of porcelain veneers treatment. You see, prior to having the porcelain veneers placed, Dr. Davis will remove some of the tooth’s natural structure. In ideal cases, a minimal amount of tooth enamel is removed to make room for the veneer and create a good bonding surface. In more complicated cases, a greater amount of the tooth’s structure must be removed so the veneers sit flush with one another; this is common for patients undergoing the instant orthodontics technique. If a tooth is twisted or juts out at an odd angle, it may require a higher level of skill and more tooth preparation.

Number of Treated Teeth

The number of teeth that must be prepared for the veneers will affect the total price of treatment. During the porcelain veneers consultation, Dr. Davis will determine how many teeth should be treated to produce a good outcome. Prior to the final placement of the veneers, each treated tooth will be prepared, and temporary veneers will be placed while the final veneers are fabricated.

Number of Porcelain Veneers

For our patients in Scottsdale, porcelain veneers are custom made by skilled dental technicians. Each veneer is fabricated of quality porcelain that is milled to the unique specifications designed for the patient. The number of veneers that are made will also affect the cost of treatment.

Payment Options

Since porcelain veneers are not covered by dental insurance, we offer various payment options to patients. These include:

  • Cash, checks, and major credit cards: The majority of our patients pay for porcelain veneers treatment with cash, checks, or credit cards.
  • Financing: Financing for medical procedures is available through CareCredit. CareCredit offers short-term and long-term payment plans so patients can pay off treatment at a rate that meets their budgetary needs. However, we always advise patients to pay off treatment as quickly as possible to avoid high interest rates.
  • Flexible spending accounts: Ask your employer if you can start a flexible spending account (FSA). With an FSA, you can divert a portion of your income into the account, tax-free.
